When giving his centennial address to Congress in 1876, President James Garfield issued the following warning: “Now, more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. Grassroots America We the People Weighs Court Challenge of Health Care Overhaul

A possible lawsuit challenging the new health care legislation is in the works and Grassroots America-We the People is launching an effort to oppose amnesty for illegal immigrants, the nonpartisan group announced Friday. JoAnn Fleming, executive director of GAWTP, said Grassroots is looking at collaborating with an undisclosed organization in Texas to file the lawsuit in federal court on behalf of individual Texans because it feels the health care legislation "infringes on personal liberty."
